Relief to Manila
The initial shutdowns due to Covid in 2020 hit the Philippines hard. Most people were unable to work and there was little help available for families. We were able to raise funds to help hundreds of families during this time.
In Manila, we were able to buy food for hundreds of families when they needed it most. The people were truly blessed, and deeply appreciated your generosity and willingness to help. This included 30 families that were living at the new dumpsite in terrible poverty and without running water or electricity. Danica hid in a garbage truck and rode to the settlement in order to bring them food in their darkest hours. Next week Jack and Layla are going to visit these families and give up-dates on how they are doing. They will be sending out pictures and updates of the families and children, with testimonies of how God has been moving in their lives. |
Continued BenefitsWe were also able to help hundreds of families in Calapan, by both providing food when they needed it as well as providing jobs for dozens of men in the community when no other work was available. The men helped restore much of the land at the children’s home, while their families were provided for. Many of these men’s children now attend the Lovelace Academy, which is tuition free and provides quality, Christian education to children in the community. Jack and Layla will be following up with these children and families as well and will continue to minister to them in the power of the Spirit.

Celebrate God's Goodness
We would like to have a celebration with these families with Jesus at the center while Jack and Layla are in Manila and in Calapan. We are hoping to raise $2000 so that we can celebrate with these families, provide them food, present the Gospel to them, and invite the Holy Spirit in, to do what He does, as we glorify Jesus. These will be revival type meetings and we will hold one in Manila and one in Calapan. There will be worship, preaching and prayer for those that attend. We were unable to preach the Gospel previously as we normally would because of the Covid restrictions, but now that restrictions are lifted, we will preach the Gospel of the Kingdom with boldness and invite the Spirit of God to come and transform lives.
Continue to Partner with us
If you feel you would like to continue to be part of this ministry to some of the poorest of the poor, post Covid, we’d ask that you pray for us in this endeavor and prayerfully consider partnering with us financially. We are looking for 10 new child sponsors ($100/month) as well as supporters that would make our revival meetings in Manila and Calapan possible ($2000).
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
